The first use of photography was around the year 1800, Thomas Wedgewood made the first known attempt to capture the image in a camera obscura which means a light-sensitive substance. The pictures could not be taken in a second or so as it does today. The first time a photograph was taken, it took 8 hours to capture. He used paper or white leather treated with silver nitrate. When he finally made that, then he made shadow copies onto glass. The coloured photos eventually darkened over time. People thought that it was a great idea to take a photo instead of painting something n having to be very cautious about the details. It took a while to get photography off its foot because there weren't very many camera's and they were all very expense. After a while of his work and effort, he died at age 34 in 1805 because of bad health. He was a great inventor and his work was awesome.
Nowadays, we can just take a picture with a click of a button and if you didn't like it, you delete it. You can also capture videos on camera, things that they didn't have back then. I think that the invention of photography was a great idea, because when you take a photo it is like taking a second of your life and putting it on paper. It was very hard to do that back then because no one knew how to. Taking photos is like an art and the world is your canvas. So go and explore the world.
